Hi everyone!
So today the blog went live (as in the website, I’ve been alive for a while now).
The first question has to be why do I want a blog? And I think its a good question everyone starting a blog should ask themselves. Some have said choose something you are passionate about - okay i have. I love writing songs. But there has to be more. If you know me (which I hope those reading this blog will over time come to do) you will know I love to talk to people. But still thats not really a reason. So if loving to talk and being passionate about something isn’t enough, then what is? I think you have to have something you feel you want to say and need to share. In fact, some could say its almost as if there is something you HAVE TO share. So, back to my question - why am I starting this blog ? Simple. The last year I have had to learn and do many things for the first time, usually by myself. So firstly I would like to share that experience with others so that they can learn from me what I did right and what I did wrong. Secondly I would like to hear from others about similar topics. Anyone who has an art form they love will know what I am talking about. How many people can you talk to in your home about this great rhythm track you put down that just works perfectly with this chorus you wrote 2 years ago. To understand the joy of seeing something that started as little more than an idea coming to life before your eyes.
The internet is changing things. I would like to see how I can incorporate something as simple as a blog into my song writing. What will I get out of it? What will the reader of my lyrics and posts get from it ? Will the ability to interact with the songwriter change their experience of the song (for better or for worse ) ?
I hope you enjoy my lyrics as much as I liked writing them! And , when circumstances allow I will post recordings also. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
